All the delicious ingredients you love in a classic Caesar’s salad, plus a few more!
There are few foods I enjoy more in life than a classic Caesar salad. When we lived in Barcelona I was in love with a leveled Caesar salad that we had at one of my favorite pizzerias. Since we moved, I have missed it like crazy.
It featured all of the classics — crisp Romaine, crunchy croutons, and a boldly-flavored Caesar dressing. Then they added crispy smoky croutons and a generous amount of bacon. They also added fresh chives or thin red onions and tons of Parmesan. I started adding extra avocado slices to the salads we had delivered. This extra creaminess was what made the salad so delicious. So if you also happen to love a good Caesar, I’m telling you — this ingredient combo is perfection!
Of course, now that we’re living an ocean away and I sadly can no longer just pop over to order this salad whenever the craving hits, I’ve been working on recreating it here in my Kansas City kitchen. It won’t be the same but it will come close.
