My family will never tire of these soft and chewy cookies with just the right amount of raisins. These have been Sean’s favorite cookies for as long as I can remember.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are Soft and Chewy.

I’ve been making this recipe since we were newlyweds (has it really been over 25 years?!) The recipe is classic for good reason. These are the best oatmeal cookies with raisins.

It’s not my fault. The recipe below has been very lightly adapted to the ancient Quaker oatmeal recipe.

The cookies can be made in a short time with simple pantry items, butter, a few eggs, and generous amounts of raisins.

Since the dough and cookies freeze well, I often double or triple the recipes to always have them on hand.

What’s not to love about having cookie dough stashed in the freezer?

I was sick over the holidays a few years ago and I was craving oatmeal cookies, but I didn’t have any in the freezer. The cookie dough is great for freezing, so you can save some to use in future baking.
