Homemade Peach Jam, a perfectly sweetened and beautifully spiced jam that has just a touch of cinnamon in it, has been a mainstay in our household for the past 15 years.
I order peaches in cases every year. Then I roll up my sleeves and set to work making and canning a year’s worth of delicious jam.
Several years ago, about the time I started this website, the summer’s peaches were very late getting to our area. The day before my trip out of town, they finally arrived. As soon as the berries were ripe, I wanted to make jam.
I looked around at my beautiful peaches, and I panicked. I knew that they would be past perfect when I got home. I was on my way to being disappointed; when Sean very casually told me that he’d take care of it.
Jam making isn’t difficult, I must admit. It’s actually very easy. It can be time-consuming, especially if you’re not familiar with the process.
I assured him that he shouldn’t worry about it, but if he really wanted to do it, I would set out the recipe and the jars for him.
