Sausage And Mushroom Pizza

The sauce recipe is enough to make 2 pizzas. You can either freeze half or make two pizzas.


Pizza dough can be purchased in 1 lb or made at home.

16 oz. mozzarella, sliced thin
Parmesan cheese, grated – 1/4 cup

6 Italian sausage links, casing removes
8 oz. 8 oz.
Finely chopped Italian tomatoes in 2-14 oz containers
2 cloves of garlic, minced
¼ cup finely chopped onion
Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
Use 1 teaspoon of dried Italian seasoning
¼ cup red chili flaked


Pour the sauce, heat the oil in the large saucepan. Add the sausage meat to the pan and brown it while stirring and breaking the meat up. Once the meat is browned, add the onion and garlic and cook for two minutes. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook them for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and seasonings. Bring to simmer and cook 30 minutes

Pre-heat the oven to 500°F. Oil a pizza pan measuring 16 inches.
In the pan, press the dough to the edges.
Cover the dough by covering it with mozzarella cheese. Spread the sauce on top of the cheese.
The pizza should be baked for 20 minutes. Rest for five minutes before serving.
