US burger chain Shake Shack Announces new partnership with Zero Acre FarmsA food company that focuses on producing environmentally friendly cooking oil from sugarcane culture.

The announcement of the collaboration coincided with Climate Week NYC’s kickoff this morning. Zero Acre Oil will be exclusively used for frying in two Shake Shacks located in New York City.

Zero Acre Farms has received investments from famous figures such as Robert Downey Jr., Richard Branson and Chipotle.

Sugarcane oil cultured

The world is currently devoted to 20–30% of all agricultural land Vegetable oil crops. But Zero Acre’s mission is to end the food industry’s dependence on destructive vegetable oils with its oil made from one of the world’s highest-yielding crops, rain-fed sugarcane plants. The cooking oil that is produced is versatile and neutral, allowing for the flavors of the ingredients to be brought out.
