
UPSIDE Foods has announced that the public can now make reservations to try its historic cultivated poultry. On August 4, Bar Crenn in San Francisco will begin serving UPSIDE’s cultivated chicken as part of a six-course meal, marking the first time members of the public can sign up to purchase cultivated meat in the US.

This announcement comes only a few weeks after UPSIDE finished the first consumer sale Bar Crenn will also be giving away a variety of chickens cultivated by the company to winners chosen from a contest on social media. UPSIDE’s first official public seating will take place on August 4 at 5:00 pm PT, when Chef Dominique Crenn will serve the startup’s cultivated chicken as part of a six-course meal priced at $150.
The chicken will be served in a black ceramic dish garnished by edible flowers and greens, and fried with a tempura batter. Only a limited number of reservations are available on a “first-come-first-served” basis.
