Upton’s Naturals is an independently owned company and a trailblazer in the plant-based food industry, established in Chicago back in 2006.

The company launched its first product, an Italian-flavored Seitan, in the market. Since then, it has expanded to offer a variety of flavors and products.

Founders Daniel Staackmann & Nicole Sopko (also known for her work at the PBFA) focus on simplicity and vegan values. They also use real ingredients that are recognizable. The company thrives because of this and has remained successful despite the fluctuations in the market. They recently reported that sales have grown 600% since 2013. Uptons says that their slow and steady strategy has helped them become the most popular seitan brand in America.
