Veg of Lund Receives US Patent for DUG’s Vegan Potato Emulsion


The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted a patent to Veg ofLund, a Swedish company that produces vegan potato drinks. The patent protection will be available for the entire US market.

Veg of Lund’s patent portfolio includes Patents for the potato ice cream on the Swedish market, and protection for the Improved recipe of award-winning DUG in Sweden, Europe and Canada. The Swedish company has also launched a new product. Active patent applications are being filed in Australia, China India Japan Thailand South Korea Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. 

“We are pleased to note that a patent is also being approved for the American market for our unique vegetable milk alternatives,” says Eva Tornberg, founder of Veg of Lund.

Tornberg launched Veg of Lund 2016 after he was inspired by potatoes’ potential to be a sustainable source of protein for plant-based products. The amino acids in the tubers are the same as those found in eggs. They also have the advantage of not containing the 14 most common allergies.
